News desk: Bangladesh Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has said that Awami League does not think that foreigners will be in power. He said that the power of the country is not owned by foreigners, but the people of the country are the owners. So if you want to be put in power, the people of the country will put you in power. He said this to reporters after paying respects to the body of actor and freedom fighter Akbar Hossain Khan Dulu (Farooq) at the Central Shaheed Minar at 12 noon on Tuesday (May 16). Obaidul Quader said, I like several films of Farooq. He was a lovable hero. His life was colorful.

A good hero on one side and a politician on the other. Not only that, he was an active politician. He said hero Farooq was a brave freedom fighter, Bangabandhu loved and liked him very much. He embodied the spirit of liberation war as well as the ideology of Awami League. Later he became a Member of Parliament. He was steadfast, rock-solid and uncompromising on the question of ideals. But in the cruel irony of fate, he could not do anything for his people. Before that he fell ill. He ended up in a coma in a hospital in Singapore. When asked about his last memory, Quader said, I heard his voice on the phone a few days ago.

Then I thought that he would recover and come back to us very soon. He also came back, but not alive, but as a corpse. Earlier, a tribute to the legendary actor was organized at the Central Shaheed Minar under the banner of the combined cultural alliance. In the beginning, the President and the Prime Minister paid tribute to the heroic freedom fighter and actor Farooq.

First, his military secretary Lt. Col. Jahangir Alam on behalf of President Mohammad Sahabuddin and his military secretary Major General Kabir Ahmed on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid their respects. Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury then paid tribute to Farooq. Then Obaidul Quader, General Secretary of Awami League paid tribute. Later, various political parties, socio-cultural organizations and people from all walks of life paid tribute to Mia Bhai.
