6th Indian Ocean Conference-2023

Newsdesk: External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar delivered the keynote address at the inaugural session of the 6th Indian Ocean Conference held in Dhaka on 12 May 2023.

In his remarks, he emphasised that the conference’s focus on the concept of peace, prosperity and partnership for a resilient future is apt for current times. He also highlighted that the Indo-Pacific Outlook recently released by Bangladesh underlines the widespread recognition of that concept.

While reiterating the importance of connectivity which is an important component of India-Bangladesh partnership, he stressed that restoring and enhancing the flows between distinct regions of the Indian Ocean Region is of utmost priority to India.

External Affairs Minister appreciated the gracious hospitality of Bangladesh during his stay in Dhaka.
