Two active members of the Ajyan party gang were arrested in Bogra

Sanju Roy, Bogra: Sadar Thana police arrested two members of the gang after rescuing four passengers who were in the clutches of Ajna Party in a moving bus in Bogra. They were arrested in front of Satmatha Saptapadi Market in the city on Saturday around 4:30 am on the basis of secret information. The four bus passengers caught in the clutches of Agnya Party are Tania Begum (32), wife of Mafuz Mia of Ashtagram in Kishoreganj district, Ainul Islam (25), son of Noor Nabi Sarkar of Rangpur district Sadar, Abu Zahid (25), son of Maqbul Hossain of Deogaon in Thakurgaon district and Azgar Ali of Haripur. Son Asif who is currently undergoing treatment at Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SHJMEC) Hospital.

Meanwhile, the two members of the Ajyan Party arrested in the operation are Shahidul Islam (44) son of deceased Akkas Ali of Mollarhat in Bagerhat district and Borhan Sheikh (52) son of deceased Rostam Sheikh who are known to be active members of the professional circle. According to the police, the two passengers got into the public transport. Later, they took away everything by mixing anesthetic drugs with ordinary passengers. District Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Snigdh Akhtar PPM gave this information in a press conference held at Bogra Sadar police station on Saturday afternoon. He said that Ajyan Party members Shahidul and Borhan boarded a Thakurgaon-bound bus from Dhaka's Gabtali.

During this time they bond with the passengers around. At one stage, during the bus stop in Sirajganj, Shahidul and Borhan sat at the dining table with the four passengers and mixed anesthetic drugs. Later after leaving the bus, when the passengers fell unconscious, the unconscious party members looted their mobile phones and cash. Bogra Sadar Thana Police received information based on secret information about this and started a search by setting up a check post at Satmatha. After the bus reached there, the members of Ajna Party fled when they sensed the presence of the police. Meanwhile, the police rescued four passengers who were unconscious in the bus and sent them to Shajimek Hospital.

Additional Superintendent of Police Snigdh Akhtar also said that during the initial interrogation, the arrested persons said that they used to find anesthetic drugs in various public transports and rob the passengers of everything. At the time of their arrest, 5 mobile phones and 11 thousand cash were recovered from the four bus passengers. Anesthetic drugs, sprays, betel nut and jorda were also seized. He said that after filing a case against the arrested persons, they were handed over to the court on Saturday. The press conference was attended by Bogra Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Noore Alam Siddiqui, Inspector (Investigation) Babu Kumar Saha and Medical Police Outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Russell Ahmed, who led the operation.
