News Desk: Traffic congestion has occurred in an area of about 25 kilometers from Madaninagar area of Siddhirganj in Narayanganj to Meghna in Sonargaon on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. This traffic jam can be seen from the morning of Wednesday (March 29). This traffic jam has been created mainly around the journey of millions of pilgrims from home and abroad to the Langalbanda of the port to the banks of the Brahmaputra river. Around the bath festival, people started pouring in from midnight.
Pilgrims are traveling in different vehicles including buses, microbuses, private cars. It is reported that the traffic congestion around the Madanpur stand has become more pronounced. Mohammad Ibrahim, TI (Officer-in-Charge) of Kachpur Highway Police Station, said that this long traffic jam was caused by the excessive pressure of vehicles around the arrival of pilgrims around Langalband Bath. Highway and district police are working to control the traffic jam.
