The protesters blocked the road by burning tires and shouting slogans against Netanyahu. Israel's defense minister was removed from office on Sunday (March 26) for speaking out against the government's "judiciary reform" initiative.

The Netanyahu government wants to pass the law to reform the judicial system in parliament this week. The key aspect of this law is that the far-right ruling coalition will have the power to make the final decision on all judicial appointments. Citing unrest at the top of the military, Gallant called for the passage of the controversial law to be delayed until after the Independence Day holiday next month. After that, it was decided to remove him in less than a day. Meanwhile, mass protests have erupted in the country against the judiciary reform initiative. Military and business leaders are also angry with this move. Israel's allies have also expressed concern. Galant is a senior member of Netanyahu's right-wing Likud party. He was the first among the party leaders to call for a moratorium on legal initiatives to overhaul the judiciary on March 25.
