Newsdesk: A story of courage and resilience ahead of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. 

Growing up in the Mahali Community with limited resources and support, Markus Trudo faced numerous obstacles but continued working towards achieving his dream of having a strong social and economic standing for the Mahalis.

Empowered by the European Union funded project "Empowering Left Behind Minority Communities to Effectively Participate in the Development Process of Bangladesh" implemented by Christian Aid Bangladesh, Markus went on to become the civil society organisation's president and head of the Mahali shomaj. With active involvement in implementing the project’s capacity-building and advocacy initiatives, he is now the voice of his entire community enabling their participation in decision-making processes.

Markus's journey highlights the importance of eradicating racial discrimination to create a more equitable and inclusive society, emphasizing the need to ensure equal opportunities and access to resources for all individuals regardless of their race.
