Ambassador of Saudi Arabia paid a courtesy call on the President at Bangabhaban

News Desk: President Md. Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Isa Yousef Isa Alduhailan paid a courtesy call on Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban. During the meeting on Sunday (March 20) evening, the Ambassador handed over to the President two letters of greetings from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammad Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on the occasion of "Bangladesh Independence and National Day". President's Press Secretary Zainal Abedin told BASS that the greetings on the occasion of Bangladesh's Independence and National Day wished for continued development and progress of the governments and people of the two countries.

The President said that Bangladesh's relationship with Saudi Arabia is very good. This relationship is expanding in several areas. Referring to the recent visit of the Saudi Trade Minister to Bangladesh, the President said that this visit has opened the doors of new possibilities in the field of bilateral relations between the two countries. The Head of State said that the bilateral relationship between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh is very important and multidimensional. There is ample scope for increasing trade and investment between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia. President Abdul Hamid expressed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia for providing assistance to the forcibly displaced Rohingya from Myanmar.

He hopes that this cooperation will continue in the future and that Saudi Arabia will continue to exert pressure on Myanmar to repatriate the Rohingyas. The ambassador of Saudi Arabia said that about 2.8 million expatriate Bangladeshis are working in various fields in Saudi Arabia. They are very hardworking, efficient and sincere. They are playing important roles in the development of Saudi Arabia. Secretary of the President's Office, Rich Barua, President's Military Secretary, Major General SM Salah Uddin Islam, President's Press Secretary. Zainal Abedin and Secretary (Joint) Wahidul Islam Khan were present on the occasion.
