Israeli forces shot and killed 4 Palestinians including a teenager

International Desk: Israeli forces shot and killed at least four Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. A teenager is also among the dead. They were shot dead during the operation of the Israeli army in the West Bank. This information was reported by Al Jazeera and the BBC on Friday (March 17). According to the report, at least four Palestinians, including a teenager, were killed in an Israeli army operation in Jenin in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian officials said.

Palestinian state news agency Wafa reported, citing the health ministry, that Thursday's operation was carried out by the Israeli army in plain clothes without uniforms. Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers entered the center of Jenin. Israel has intensified such operations in the West Bank since last year. The Palestinian ministry released the names of three of the dead. The deceased have been identified as 29-year-old Yusef Shrim, 28-year-old Nidal Khajim and 16-year-old teenager Omar Awadeen. However, the identity of the fourth person killed was not immediately known.

The Israeli army said its security forces had launched an operation in the 'Jenin refugee camp.' The Palestinian Authority, however, said they will attend a security meeting with Israel in Egypt's Red Sea resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh on March 19. However, political analyst Nur Odeh said the Palestinian leadership should not attend the meeting.

Because Palestinian public opinion is 'strongly against it'. In addition, representatives of Egypt, Jordan and the United States will also participate in the meeting. According to the media, the total number of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks on the West Bank this year has reached 83. On the other hand, 14 people were killed in various Palestinian attacks against Israelis in 2023. In addition, more than 170 Palestinians were killed in Israeli operations in 2022. Most of these dead Palestinians are civilians.
