News desk: The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has called an emergency meeting to achieve the target of collection of duty, excise and VAT for the current fiscal year 2022-2023 and to determine the future strategy. The meeting is scheduled to be held tomorrow, February 26, at the head office of the institution under the chairmanship of NBR Chairman Abu Hena Rahmatul Munim. . This information is known based on the notice of the meeting given on February 22. The letter signed by Sheikh Mejbah-ul-Saberin, Second Secretary of Customs and VAT Administration of NBR, said that the revenue collection progress of the Customs, Excise and VAT department up to the month of January of the current financial year and to fix the strategy to achieve the revenue collection target of the financial year 2022-23 will be held in the next 26 months. February meeting will be held.

NBR Chairman Abu Hena Rahmatul Munim will preside over it. All members of customs and VAT department and all commissioners and director generals of Dhaka should be present at the NBR head office in the zoom meeting. On the other hand, Commissioners and DGs outside Dhaka will participate through video conference. In the current fiscal year 2022-23, up to December, NBR has collected 1 lakh 44 thousand 307 crores of revenue. In the fiscal year July-December, the revenue deficit or less than the target has been collected in the 6 months of 13 thousand 778 crore 63 lakh taka. Although compared to the same period of the last financial year, the growth has been around 10.13 percent. That is, the company is spinning in the circle of deficit.

In the current fiscal year (July-June), NBR's revenue collection target is set at 3 lakh 70 thousand crores. Among them, the target of revenue at the level of import and export in 2022-23 fiscal year is 1 lakh 11 thousand crores, 1 lakh 36 thousand 900 crores of Musak collection and 1 lakh 22 thousand 100 crores of income tax sector.
