Make a quick decision on the supply of tanks to Ukraine: Zelensky

International Desk:  Ukraine is desperate to get Leopard tanks from Germany. "If you have Leopard-2 tanks, give them to us," Zelenskiy told German TV recently. 

On the other hand, Zelensky assured the German government that if the Leopard-2 tanks are received, they will be used only for defense purposes and they will not enter the territory of Russia in any way.

However, Germany has not yet said whether it will supply the Leopard tanks requested by Ukraine. 

Zelensky criticized Germany's negligence. "Yes, we still have to fight for modern tank supplies," he said. But every day we make it more clear that there is no alternative to tanks in this regard. So a quick decision should be taken regarding the tank.' 

Thanking the countries that have already pledged to supply arms, he added, 'Every step for our defense must be completed as soon as possible.'  

On the other hand, Poland and Finland have indicated that they are interested in sending German-made Leopard tanks to Ukraine. However, Germany's approval is required in this case. 

The country's newly appointed Defense Minister Boris Tistorius said on Friday, "I cannot yet say when and what the decision will be on the supply of Leopard tanks," as pressure mounted on Berlin to approve the delivery.
