Mithun and Dev are seen in the roles of father and son in this film directed by Abhijit Sen. Along with 'Prajapati', Indranil Sengupta starrer 'Hatyapuri' and director duo Shivprasad-Nandita Roy's 'Hami 2' were released on Christmas. In terms of money, 'Prajapati' has done the most business among these three films. However, in many halls of the city, the 'Housefull' board is hanging next to the names of the three films. In one word, the Bengali audience is hallomukhi.

Prajapati earned Tk 2 crore 17 lakh in the first week of release. The trend continued in the second week as well, the film grossed around Rs 2 crore in the first three days - which is great! The number of shows of this film was 189 in the first week, it increased to 289 in the second week! This number tells how excited the audience is about 'Prajapati'.

Apart from Dev-Mithun, the film also stars Mamata Shankar, Kaninika Bandyopadhyay, Ambarish Bhattacharya, Shweta Bhattacharya, Kaushani Mukhopadhyay. After the success of Tonic and Prajapati, Abhijit Sen and Dev duo will return to the screen by the end of next year. The actor has already announced the third film.
