Dense fog: Daulatdia-Paturia ferry service suspended to avoid accidents

News Desk: Due to dense fog, the ferry service of Daulatdia-Paturia, one of the country's sea routes, is closed to avoid boat accidents.

On Tuesday (January 3) around 3 o'clock in the night, when the density of fog increased in the Padma, the authorities stopped the ferry service on this waterway.

Meanwhile, several vehicles are waiting on the river bank at the Daulatdia end as the ferry has been closed for a long time. As a result, the drivers and passengers of the vehicles have suffered greatly in the severe winter.

General Manager of BIWTC Shah Mohammad Khaled Newaz said that due to the increased density of fog, ferries on this route have been stopped from 3 pm to avoid accidents. Once the density of the fog clears, ferry traffic will resume. At present, 15 small and big ferries are plying on this route.
