Sports Desk: Pele is the best footballer of all time. He died at the age of 82 on Thursday night. This legend is the only footballer in the world to have won three World Cups. Brazil tasted the World Cup for the first time in 1958 with the magic of his feet. But if he was not a footballer, his life could have been different.

If he was born in a poor family, he wanted to fly in the sky in his first life. He dreamed of becoming an airplane pilot. But an accident witnessed in his childhood changed his life goal later.

Pele used to travel regularly to Bauru airport to sell nuts. Seeing the airplane flying there, he wanted to become a pilot. But the dream was nipped in the bud in 1940 when a glider plane crashed and one person was killed.

At the age of 82, when he left the country of no return, he once said in an interview, 'To tell the truth, I was 9 years old. I wanted to be a pilot then. It was my dream. I wanted to fly.'

After the Maracana incident in the 1950 World Cup, football became everything in Pele's life. The Maracana incident of 1950 became known to Brazilians as a national tragedy. Despite being the host in the final, they lost the title to Uruguay 2-1. Another name for that Brazilian tragedy is Maracanajo. Pele's father burst into tears at that rate. The sight of his father crying made a strong resolve in him.

Pele said, "I saw my father cry for the first time in the service." I remember telling him - 'don't cry dad, I will win the World Cup for you.'

The Brazilian legend, however, also admitted that he had tried unsuccessfully to console his father at a young age. Because he could not understand what to say when he saw his father crying.

The God of Football, however, left the words that came out of the nine-year-old boy's mouth as if it were a script of destiny. Eight years later, the famous footballer was called up to the 1958 Brazil World Cup squad. At the age of 17, he scored 6 goals and became the best player of the World Cup and brought his country the first title. The record for the youngest person to win the World Cup still stands.
