The responsibility has increased: Obaidul Quader

News desk: Obaidul Quader, the party's senior leader, has been elected as the general secretary of Awami League for the third time. Through this, his responsibility has increased, he said.

Obaidul Quader said, "It is my good fortune to get the responsibility of Awami League again and it is Sheikh Hasina's decision." After independence, I became the general secretary of the party three times, the responsibility increased.

On Sunday (December 25) morning, the party's newly elected committee members paid tribute to Bangabandhu's portrait at Dhanmondi under the leadership of Awami League president Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Obaidul Quader said these things to the journalists after paying tribute.

Awami League general secretary said yesterday's national conference was orderly and spontaneous. Our party is united under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina as proved by our presence in the conference yesterday.

He said, he understands the language of councillors' eyes and mind. We democratically elected the leadership of this conference. Most of the old ones were re-elected.

Obaidul Quader mentioned that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is indispensable in Awami League and said that Sheikh Hasina has no alternative. There are more than 10 candidates in Awami League who can be general secretary. There is a crisis in our country with the upcoming elections and the world situation in front. Militancy, sectarianism, the movement to oust the government led by BNP - there are many challenges in front of Awami League in such a situation. The president of the party has decided to put experienced people in the leadership of Awami League to face these challenges.
