Cotton warehouse fire in Niveni Gazipur in 10 hours

News desk: The fire in the cotton warehouse of Samim Textile Mill in Bhabanipur area of ​​Sadar Upazila of Gazipur was not brought under control till 10 am. Five fire service units are working to control the fire. Meanwhile, the factory authorities said that the amount of damage caused by the fire is Tk 400 million.

Abdullah Al Arefin, Deputy Assistant Director of Gazipur Fire Service, said that the fire started at 12 o'clock on Monday.

Abdullah Al Arefin said that a fire broke out in the cotton warehouse of Shamim Textile Mill on Safari Park Road in Bhavanipur area of ​​Sadar Upazila around 12 o'clock on Monday night. Two units of Sreepur Fire Service started working to bring the fire under control after getting information about the fire. As the level of the fire was increasing, a total of five units, including two units of Joydevpur Fire Service and one more unit of Sreepur Fire Service, started the work to bring the fire under control.

According to the fire service, the fire in its current state cannot spread elsewhere. However, the fire was not brought under control until 10:30 am. He could not tell any casualty and cause of fire in this incident.

Abul Khair Manik, director of Samim Textile Mill, said that it was 12 o'clock in the night when our people felt it. As soon as it was noticed, the fire service was informed. They reached the spot and are working to bring the fire under control, but it is not yet under control.

He said, initially, I think that there has been more than 350 to 400 crores of damage. A full calculation will increase the amount of damage.
