International Desk: At least 32 people were killed in the Russian attack in the Kherson region of Ukraine. The casualties have been reported since the withdrawal of Russian forces from the region a couple of weeks ago.

Reuters reported this information in a report on Sunday (November 27) citing the Ukrainian police.

At least 32 people have been killed by Russian shelling in southern Ukraine's Kherson region since pro-Moscow forces withdrew two weeks ago, Ukraine's police chief said on Saturday.

Russian forces completed their withdrawal from the city of Kherson on November 11, after nearly nine months of occupation. Russian forces are now stationed on the east bank of the Dnipro River, from where they continue to shell the city regularly.

"Daily Russian attacks are destroying this city and killing peaceful local residents," Ukrainian National Police Chief Ihor Klymenko said in a Facebook post. After all, Russia has killed 32 civilians in the Kherson region since leaving the city.'

Stating that the police are again on duty in the area, he added, 'Many people are moving away from here to seek shelter in the quieter parts of the country. But many residents are staying in their homes and we need to give them the highest possible security.'

A senior aide to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that electricity had been restored to the city. Also, a senior official said last week that Ukraine will soon begin evacuating people who want to leave the region.

Police chief Klymenko also said investigators have recorded a total of 578 cases of war crimes committed by Russian troops and their allies in the region.

However, Moscow has consistently denied any allegations of torture by Russian forces against civilians.
