International Desk: The quality of education in the UK, a European country, is much better than other countries in the world. Oxford, Cambridge and many other top universities are located in this country.

As a result, students from different parts of the world want to go there for higher education. However, everyone's dream of pursuing higher education in the UK may not be fulfilled anymore. Because the country's Prime Minister Rishi Sunak wants to limit the entry of foreign students. In a report, the media BBC has given such information.

New Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is planning to do this mainly because the number of net immigrants in the UK has increased compared to normal. The sage will think of all ways to prevent immigration. This will include restricting the entry of foreign students to the UK.

A spokesperson for the UK Prime Minister's Office said Rishi Sunak is planning to block those who want to come to the UK to take 'low quality' degrees. However, this spokesperson did not clarify what low quality degree actually is.

Data released by the UK's Office for National Statistics last week showed net immigration to the country has risen sharply. The number of net immigrants in 2021 was 1 lakh 73 thousand. It has increased to 5 lakh 4 thousand this year. It means this year this number has increased by 3 lakh 31 thousand.

Indian students mostly go for higher education in UK. This year India has overtaken China to receive the highest number of student visas. They are the reason for the increase in the number of net immigrants.

However, according to the BBC report, if this is done, many universities will be in trouble. Because they have to charge less fees from British students. The shortage of money created by this is filled from foreign students. The BBC report also said that curbs on foreign students entering the UK could lead to some universities going bankrupt.

Meanwhile, UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman, who is of Indian origin, complained that many Indians came to study in the UK and overstayed. He indicated to be strict about this.
