Tofazzal Hossain Babu, Pabna: The police has registered a case against 150 people by mentioning the names of 7 people from district BNP, Juba Dal and Chhatra Dal on charges of creating panic and sabotage in the public mind by exploding cocktails in Pabna city. Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Roknuzzaman Sarkar confirmed the case on Monday (November 21) evening. Earlier on Sunday (November 20) afternoon, the police said that the incident took place in front of the Kheyaghat district BNP temporary office on Alia Madrasa road in Pabna city.
The named accused are district BNP convening committee member Sajjad Hossain Swapan, district Jubo Dal president Himel Rana, district Chhatra Dal president Aminul Islam, general secretary Kamruzzaman Pins, former general secretary Taslim Hasan Sweet, organizing secretary Saddam Hossain and deputy general secretary Mahbubul Haque. young All of them are followers of BNP Chairperson Special Assistant Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas.
Calling the case a conspiracy, Himel Rana, president of Pabna district youth party, said, 'There was no incident like the cocktail explosion yesterday on Sunday. This case has been filed to frustrate the Rajshahi Divisional Assembly and the ongoing democracy restoration movement on December 3 and to harass the activists.
When contacted about this, district BNP member secretary Advocate Masud Khandkar said, 'I do not know anything about this incident. I heard this from you (journalist) for the first time, I don't know about the cocktail explosion in the city. We don't even know if there has been a case.'
