This time 8 projects have been approved

News Desk: National Economic Council Executive Committee (ECNEC) has approved 8 projects. The total cost of implementing the projects has been estimated at 4 thousand 826 crore 21 lakh taka. Out of this, 2 thousand 341 crore rupees will be spent from government funds, 2 thousand 207 crore rupees from foreign loan assistance and 278 crore rupees from implementing agencies.

This approval was given in the meeting held at the NEC conference room in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar of the capital on Tuesday. It was presided over by Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairperson Sheikh Hasina. After the meeting, the Planning Minister MA Mannan and State Minister for Planning briefed the journalists. Shamsul Alam.

Ekneke approved projects

Upgradation project of 4 district highways under Comilla road department to proper standard and width. Construction project of Galachipa bridge over Ravnabad river at 70th km of Lebukhali-Baufal-Galachipa-Amragachia district highway. Transport Masterplan and Preliminary Feasibility Study for Urban Metrorail Transit Construction of Chittagong Metropolitan Area Project. Coastal Towns Climate Resilience Project.

In addition, the third submarine cable installation project aimed at expanding Bangladesh's international telecommunication system; Jail Security Modernization, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Chittagong Division Project; National Information and Communication Technology Infrastructure Development (Info-Government III Phase) Project; Ekne has also approved projects to strengthen nutrition and food security through agricultural development.

The meeting was attended by Planning Secretary Mamun-al-Rashid, Member (Secretary) of Physical Infrastructure Department Satyajit Karmakar, Member (Secretary) of Socio-Economic Infrastructure Department Mosammat Nasima Begum and Secretary of Information and Management Department Dr. Shahnaz Arefin Siddiqui.
