International Desk : The FIFA World Cup is starting today in the Middle East country of Qatar. The whole world is waiting to enjoy this biggest sporting event in the world today. The whole world is infected with football fever. And with the World Cup in Qatar, the level of happiness among many Asian countries and expatriates should be a little higher.

However, the terrorist organization al-Qaeda has issued a warning to Muslims around the world to avoid this football frenzy to be held after four years. A regional branch of this international militant organization has given this warning. Reuters reported this information in a report on Sunday (November 20).

According to the report, a regional branch of al-Qaeda has called on Muslims worldwide to avoid the football World Cup to be held in Qatar. However, the militant group has stopped threatening attacks or promoting violence linked to the soccer World Cup, according to a report by a monitoring group.

Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, the Yemen-based branch of the al-Qaeda militant group, criticized Qatar for bringing immoral people, homosexuals, corruption and sowers of atheism to the Arabian Peninsula, Reuters said. The group said the World Cup event served to divert attention from "occupation and oppression in Muslim countries".

Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula issued a warning a day before the start of the tournament in a Muslim-majority country for the first time in a statement released by the intelligence group's site on Saturday, saying: 'We warn our Muslim brothers against following or attending this World Cup event.'

Responding to criticism over Qatar's human rights record, including social restrictions on LGBT rights, the World Cup host country said everyone would be welcome in Qatar during the World Cup, regardless of religion, race, sexual orientation or background.

Qatar is a small country with a population of about 3 million. Most of the workers in this country are foreigners. The Middle Eastern country says it has trained more than 50,000 people to provide security during the World Cup.

Besides, foreign forces under the command of Qatar are also helping to maintain security in the country.
