Entertainment Desk: Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer 'Brahmastra' has been a huge hit at the Bollywood box office this year. The story of the first part progressed around 'Shiva' i.e. Ranveer. The second part will focus on Khal's character 'Dev'. Rumor has it in Bollywood, Telugu actor Vijay Devarakonda has been offered the role by the makers.
It was earlier heard that Hrithik Roshan was initially offered the role. As Hrithik did not agree, the makers wanted to go ahead with Ranveer Singh. Even, the proposal went to 'KGF' fame Yash. But sources claim that Ranveer and Yash have withdrawn from this film. As a result, it has now been proposed to the southern superstar Vijay Deverakonda.
Liger was released a few months ago. This was Vijay's debut in Bollywood. But the film did not succeed at the box office. Karan Johar is the producer of 'Brahmastra' and 'Liger'. Sources claim that after the failure of 'Liger', Karan is looking for a film that can establish Vijay in the world of Hindi films. So naturally he is thinking of Vijay for the role of 'Dev'.
Another reason comes to the fore. South actor Nagarjuna played a special role in the original film. This type of casting always creates an added attraction around the film for the southern audience. So Karan wants to fulfill the same purpose with Vijay this time too.
