According to the details of the incident, the third class employees blocked the VC in his office from 9:30 am on Wednesday morning with 14-point demands including the permanent employment of 22 third class employees. From this time they started a sit-in strike in front of the office of the VC. In this regard, the Vice-Chancellor (VC) said. Farhad Hossain said that in 2019, the then Vice-Chancellor had appointed 22 Class III employees on an ad hoc basis. Out of this, 15 posts have been approved in two phases from the University Grants Commission. The recruitment process for those 15 posts is going on. Meanwhile, the Third Class Employees Association has raised the demand to appoint 22 people against those 15 posts. They demand that the job be made permanent only through the oral test without any written test. In this situation, the university registrar, proctor, leaders of the teachers' association sat with them for several rounds of discussion. But the employee union remains adamant about the demand. Around 10 am on Friday, more than two hundred students of the university went to the VC's office with a procession. They raised various slogans in favor of building a corruption-free university. After the procession reached the Vice-Chancellor's office, the striking employees left. Later, the students opened the lock and entered the VC's office and requested the VC to come out. At that time the VC did not come out with the students, but in the afternoon he went with the students and prayed in the mosque. Among the students who went to the VC's office with a procession, Mahmudul Hasan Dulal said, "The third class employees blocked the VC sir to collect some unreasonable demands. It is very sad. We want appropriate punishment for those who have caused this incident. After the prayer, Vice-Chancellor Farhad Hossain said to the students in front of the administrative building, "I am proud. President of the Third Class Employees' Association SM Mahfuzur Rahman said that their strike is still continuing. Their agitation will continue until their demands are met.
