Mr. Imdadul Haque Sohag, Assistant Provost of Sheikh Russell Hall, presented the article in the discussion meeting. In the speech of the chief guest, Professor Dr. A.Q.M. Mahbub said, today we were supposed to celebrate Sheikh Russel's birthday with joy but it seems to be celebrated with sadness. As Bengalis, we are so ruthless that on the night of August 15, 1971, we did not leave even our infant son Sheikh Russell. Today, if Sheikh Russell was alive in the bosom of Bengal, Bangladesh would have reached the top of the developed world. In the president's speech, Hall Provost of Sheikh Russell Hall Mr. Md Emdadul Haque said, today we are living in an independent state. But sadly, a bright star has been lost in this independent country. On August 15, 1971, that bright star of Bengal did not escape the assassin's bullet. He said, if Sheikh Russell was alive in the heart of Bengal today, the hands of honorable Prime Minister, People's Leader Sheikh Hasina would have been stronger.
