Al Masud, Panchgarh: Durga Puja, the biggest festival of the Hindu community, ended with the sacrifice of idols. According to Sanatan religious beliefs, the goddess returned to her husband's house in Kailasa in Swargalok after renunciation. She will come to her father's house in Dharani next year in autumn. On Wednesday (October 5) various pujamandaps of Panchagarh district started from 4 pm and ended till evening. Like all Bangladesh last (October 1) Durga Puja started and on the fifth day (October 5) the ritual of Durga Puja ended with idol immersion. The statue was not seen during the procession, there was police patrolling on the roads of the district town and around the Karatoa river burial ghat. The fire service team was also on duty in the river. Apart from this, law enforcement officers were also ready in white clothes to avoid unpleasant situations. This time Goddess Durga arrived through Shashti Puja. Pratima Bisarjan ends with Vijaya Dashami. Goddess Durga has come to the yard and returned by boat. Superintendent of Police SM, Sirajul Huda (PPM) said that all security measures have been taken by the district police to complete the idol burial today. And it was completed successfully. Greetings and congratulations from the District Police to those who were engaged in law and order duties and performed their duties with integrity. Bangladesh Puja Celebration Parishad District Branch President Jivdhan Barman said, "Durga Puja is the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community throughout the year and there is a lot of joy in this Durga Puja." But due to the death of many orthodox devotees in boat sinking in Karatoya river at Aulia Ghat of Madya Bamanhat Union of Boda Upazila, we have hung mourning banners in every puja mandap. Sent condolence messages, wished peace and well-being to their souls. I am coming, on the last day and in an informal environment, I have sacrificed the idol. I am praying to the Creator that such an unwanted incident does not happen again. This time, 49 Atwari, 30 Tetulia, 9 Boda, 95 Debiganj and 114 in Sadar district, a total of 297 mandaps have completed the Autumn Durgotsav.
