News desk: Due to heavy rainfall in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati, hills have collapsed. Many tourists are trapped in this. A mountain suddenly collapsed on the road at Nanda Rampara in Sajek on Wednesday (October 05) morning. All types of vehicles, including tourist vehicles, have stopped.
It has been learned that the army has been working to remove the soil from the hill since Wednesday morning to normalize the traffic. According to various local sources, the traffic may be normal within a few hours.
Meanwhile, due to landslides, tourists are stranded while going to Sajeke on their puja vacation and returning after visiting Sajeke. Baghaichhari Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Rumana Akhter said in the afternoon, heavy rains occurred in Baghaichhari on Tuesday night. Due to which the Sajek landslide occurred. However, no one was injured.
UNO also said that the army is working to remove soil from the road. Traffic will be normalized within a few hours.
