Rabiul Alam Ivan, Kushtia: Police rescued a one-day-old baby girl from the side of a canal behind Tekona Muka Fakir's house in Alampur Union Dahkula village of Sadar Upazila of Kushtia. The incident took place in Dahkula Tekona village of Alampur Union on Tuesday morning. So far, the police have not found the child's family. Kushtia Model Police Station OC Delwar Hossain Khan confirmed the matter. According to local sources, the locals heard the sound of a baby crying from the gurgling of a canal behind Tekona Muka Fakir's house in Dahkula village of Alampur Union. Later, with the help of the locals, while cleaning the garbage, they found a baby girl. Locals informed the police from the spot. The police reached the spot and rescued the baby girl and took her to Kushtia General Hospital. Currently, the child is under treatment in Ward No. 4 of Sadar Hospital. In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Saidur Islam said, currently the child is in the custody of the supervisor of the General Hospital with 2.5 beds. OC Delwar Hossain Khan of Kushtia Model Police Station said that the local police rescued the child and admitted him to Kushtia Sadar Hospital. The child is currently undergoing treatment. Police are looking for the child's parents.
