News Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed fears that famine and economic recession may occur more widely in the world in 2023. Along with that, thinking about the future, he urged the citizens of Bangladesh to bring every inch of land under production. On the occasion of Sharidiya Durgotsava, he made this call while exchanging greetings with Sanatan Dharma members present at Dhakeswari National Temple arena on Tuesday (October 4) afternoon via video conference from Gana Bhavan. The Prime Minister said, I would request everyone not to leave even 1 inch of land uncultivated in any area. Because of the economic recession that has occurred all over the world - when I went to the United Nations, there were discussions with the leaders of many countries. Discussions with the UN Secretary-General, everyone is very worried that there could be a severe famine in 2023. A more widespread economic downturn could follow. In that case, I would say that the people of our country must take measures from now. He said, we have people, our soil is very fertile, no land should remain uncultivated. They should increase their savings by increasing production as much as possible. Electricity, water, everything should be affordable. We have to act like that from now on, thinking about the future. Highlighting the suffering of people all over the world as a result of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and reciprocal sanctions, the Prime Minister said that the Russia-Ukraine war came after the corona epidemic. That war resulted in a double ban. As a result, today not only Bangladesh, but the common people of almost every country in the world are suffering. Inflation is increasing, prices of daily commodities are increasing, electricity, gas and fuel are increasing in price. Because of this, the developed countries are now suffering.
