Thakurgaon Correspondent: In a drug case in Thakurgaon, 3 persons were sentenced to life imprisonment. Thakurgaon learned session judge Mamnoor Rashid sentenced each of the 3 accused to life imprisonment and a fine of Tk 1 lakh on Thursday. A person named Abdur Karim was acquitted in this case. According to court sources, on November 15, 2018, a team of DB Police conducted an anti-narcotics operation in Chikni village of Ranishankoil upazila of the district. At that time, Md Akmal (19), son of Md Abdul Karim, Md Hasem Ali (20), son of Md Mainul Haque, and Md Chadekul Islam (34), son of deceased Sajjad Ali, along with 300 bottles of Phencidil Who was arrested? Later Thakurgaon DB Police SI Md. Rabiul Islam filed this case in Ranishankoil police station as plaintiff. Later, after the case was pending in the court for a long time, finally, as the charges brought against the mentioned 3 people were proven beyond doubt and satisfactory, they were found guilty under the Narcotics Control Act and sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of 1 lakh taka. In this case, a person named Md. Abdul Karim was acquitted as the charge was not proved beyond doubt and satisfactorily.
