Businessman dies due to dispute over land in Pabna

Tofazzal Hossain Babu, Pabna: A businessman named Shariful Islam (30) was killed due to a land dispute in Pabna Sadar Upazila by his cousin. The incident took place on Friday (September 30) at around 8:30 am near the Shahi Mosque in the upazila's Kharira village. The deceased Shariful is the son of Abdus Samad Sardar of that village. Accused cousins ​​Shaheen Hossain and Swapan Hossain are sons of deceased Majnu Sardar of the same village. They are on the run since the incident. Quoting the deceased's relatives and locals, Additional Superintendent of Police of Pabna Sadar Circle Roknuzzaman Sarkar said that there was a dispute between Shariful and his cousins ​​Swapan and Shaheen over a piece of land next to the house. Shariful's father Samad Sardar went to cut bamboo in the disputed land on Friday morning. At this time, Swapan and Shaheen stopped him. At one stage of the argument, Swapan and Shaheen Da cut Shariful with a sharp knife and ran away. The family members rushed him to the Pabna General Hospital first. When the condition deteriorated there, Shariful died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Additional Superintendent of Police Roknuzzaman also said that after receiving information, the police recovered the body and sent it to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Additional police have been deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident. And the police has started to catch the accused.
