News desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon Bangladeshi diaspora to describe the BNP government's corruption, irregularities and brutality against the opposition in addition to the overall development of the country. On Thursday (September 29) in Washington DC, he said in an exchange meeting with expatriate Bangladeshis, "Foreigners should know that BNP's main task is to spread propaganda against the country abroad." Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary KM Shakhawat Moon briefed reporters after the meeting. The Prime Minister said, "Bangladesh is moving towards prosperity and is going to get the status of a developed country because of the democratic process in the country for a long time. We are working together to continue the development.” Regarding the elections, Awami League president Sheikh Hasina said that her party has ensured a neutral election environment in the country. As a result, people are now able to freely exercise their voting rights. BNP, on the other hand, sabotaged the electoral process in various ways, including creating fake voter lists and disenfranchising people by carrying out acts of terrorism on polling days. The Prime Minister said, "BNP nominated 700 people against 300 seats in the last parliamentary elections and people did not vote for them because of seat-trading." The Prime Minister is currently in Washington DC after attending the 77th session of the UNGA and other high-level events in New York. He left for New York on September 19 after staying in London from September 15 to 19 to attend the funeral of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II. The Prime Minister is expected to return home on October 4.
