European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) Citing Reuters, the earthquake originated about 112 kilometers north-northwest of Moniwa, Myanmar, and had a depth of 144 kilometers. According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred in the northwestern city of Mawlai, Myanmar at 4:22 local time.
