Award of 'Ambikacharan Roy Education Scholarship' at Ulipur

Md. Hasan, Kurigram: In order to preserve the memory of the heavenly Ambikacharan Roy in Ulipur of Kurigram, like the last two years, education scholarships have been given to poor students. On Thursday (September 29) morning at Principal Debbrat Roy's residence, education scholarships were awarded to the poor and talented students of the upazila by 'Ambika Foundation' with the financial support of Professor Nikhil Chandra Roy, the third son of late Ambika Charan Roy. On this occasion, Chhotani editor and Ulipur history writer Abuhena Mustafa, Ambikacharan Roy's son, Ulipur Women's Degree College principal Debbrat Roy and second son Gokul Chandra Roy were present. It may be noted that Swargiya Subhash Chandra Roy was the eldest son of Ambikacharan Roy, former assistant professor of Bangla Department, Ulipur Government College. Ambikacharan Roy taught at Durgapur Government Primary School in Ulipur Upazila for more than 40 years and was associated with the anti-British Swadeshi movement. He passed away in 1989 AD.
