Md Hasan, Kurigram: A discussion meeting was held at Phulbari in Kurigram on prevention of drug consumption, human trafficking, smuggling and child marriage and social harmony. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rezaul Karim was present as the chief guest in the discussion meeting organized by Fulbari upazila administration on Tuesday (September 27) afternoon at Balarhat Adarsh High School and College grounds under the chairmanship of Upazila Executive Officer Suman Das. In the speech of the special guest, Superintendent of Police Al Asad Md. Mahfuzul Islam said that drug dealers will not be exempted at all. The Superintendent of Police called upon everyone to unite in the eradication of narcotics from their respective responsibilities and assured the strict enforcement of the law that the Kurigram District Police will not back down in enforcing the government's zero tolerance towards narcotics. He highlighted the punishment and punishment of about 32 drug dealers, drug carriers, drug-related criminals who were sentenced to rigorous imprisonment by the learned court in 19 drug cases last August. On this occasion, Upazila Chairman Bir Muktijoddha Md Golam Rabbani Sarkar, Additional Director of Narcotics Control Directorate Md Ali Aslam Hossain and others were present as special guests. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries including religious leaders, professionals, general public and students.
