10 injured in attack by two groups of Chhatra League in Eden

News Desk: At least 10 people were injured in the clash between the two sides during the press conference of Eden College Branch Chhatra League President Tamanna Jasmine Riva and General Secretary Razia Sultana. On Sunday (September 25), President Riva and General Secretary Razia Sultana organized a press conference in front of the auditorium of Eden College. At one stage of the press conference, the two groups clashed and chased each other. Eden College Chhatra League president Tamanna Jasmine Riva was injured in the incident and is undergoing treatment in the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMH) Hospital. Besides, College Chhatra League joint general secretary Ritu Akter (27) is also undergoing treatment in the emergency department. The teacher of Eden Women's College confirmed the matter. Nargis Akhter said that in the clash between the two groups, BCL president Tamanna Jasmine Riva and joint general secretary were killed. When Ritu Akhter was injured, they were rescued and brought to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical. They are currently undergoing treatment there. According to a source of eyewitnesses, on the other hand, Summita Baroi, vice-president of another group's college branch, Chhatra League, was injured. They are being taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, Vice President Sanjida Parveen Chowdhury told reporters, "We don't want Riva-Razia. They are tyrants, they are the disgrace of Chhatra League. They have attacked us before. Two of us were admitted to the hospital. Besides, 5-6 other people were injured. Riva has left the campus. We want to leave Razia on campus. We don't want to see them on this campus." During this time, BCL workers started chanting Riva Razia, Mani Na, Manbo Na', 'Riva-Raziar, want to be expelled, must do', 'Riva Razia's address, will not be in Eden', 'Riva-Razia, shame of Eden College' etc. A party said that Eden College will continue its stay until the president-general secretary of the Chhatra League is expelled from the campus. Another party is demanding the expulsion of the party affected by the Saturday (September 25) incident from the campus. Eden College President Tamanna Jasmine Riva and General Secretary Razia Sultana were accused of beating up a Chhatra League leader named Jannatul Ferdous from the hall for giving an interview to the media about extortion and seat trading. In this incident, ordinary students protested at Eden College campus around 11:30 pm on Saturday. At this time, ordinary students also demanded their resignation.
