Tofazzal Hossain Babu, Pabna: On the order of the mobile court in Bhangura, Pabna, two lakhs of rupees worth of illegal China duari fishing nets have been destroyed. On Wednesday (September 21) the incident took place at Naubaria village of Naubaria upazila around noon. It is known that upazila executive officer and executive magistrate Mohammad Nahid Hasan Khan conducted a mobile court on Wednesday afternoon against Madai Haldar of Naubaria village of Bhangura union for making and marketing prohibited fishing nets. Meanwhile, the joint force with SI Zahid of Bhangura police station seized many banned china duari nets from Brihadaytan. Later those bullets were taken to the banks of river Gumani and burnt in front of everyone and Madai Haldar was fined 5 thousand rupees. At this time, the upazila fisheries officer Nazmul Huda and the SI of the thana police. Zahidul Islam assisted him. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Nahid Hasan Khan admitted the truth of the incident and said that Madai Halder (50) has been fined 5 thousand taka as per Section 5 of Fisheries Protection and Conservation Act, 1950 for his involvement in making and marketing prohibited nets. The seized nets were burnt in a safe place.
