A farmer was beaten to death in Ulipur and arrested 4

Kurigram Correspondent: The police arrested 4 people involved in the case of beating to death of a farmer named Abdus Sattar (50) due to a land dispute in Ulipur of Kurigram. The incident took place in Akkel Mamud Miyaji Para village of Begumganj Union last Monday (September 19) morning. He is the son of Abdus Samad of that village. On Tuesday (September 20) Ulipur police station said that while the dispute against the accused was going on regarding various family matters including land, on the day of the incident, due to the earlier dispute, the accused Md. Dabir was working in the paddy field on the mortgaged land of a person 500 yards south-east of their homestead. Uddin (60), Abu Bakkar, Abu Sama (45) and Lovely Khatun (40) and 4-5 others who have not been identified due to past enmity attacked Abdus Sattar with bullets and seriously injured him. The family members took him by boat to Kurigram General Hospital for treatment. Apply for Abdus Sattar died late at night while undergoing treatment. In this incident, the wife of the deceased, Beauty Khatun, filed a murder case at Ulipur police station as the plaintiff. Ulipur police station officer in-charge (OC) Imtiaz Kabir said that Dabir Uddin, Abu Bakkar, Abu Sama, and Lovely Khatun have been arrested in connection with the incident. The accused will be sent to jail on Wednesday (September 21) by the learned court.
