News desk: Awami League presidium member Advocate Kamrul Islam said, "Awami League supported the caretaker government to rescue the people from a suffocating situation." Friday (September 16) at the Jahur Hossain Chowdhury auditorium of the National Press Club. He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the funeral of Akbar Ali Khan. Brahmanbaria District Association organized the funeral. Kamrul Islam said, “We have seen the form of caretaker government. People of all professions were tortured by that government. Even university teachers were sent to jail.” Highlighting Akbar Ali Khan's contribution in the liberation war, Kamrul Islam said, "In the liberation war, he (Akbar Ali Khan) handed over weapons to the freedom fighters on his own responsibility. He deposited 3 crore rupees in the treasury of the Bangladesh government at that time for the freedom fighters.” He also said, “When Akbar Ali Khan wanted to return to teaching, Bangabandhu gave him that opportunity. He submitted his resignation but Bangabandhu did not accept it but gave him a long leave.” Under the chairmanship of the brave freedom fighter R AM Ubaidul Moktadir Chowdhury and the secretary of the post and telecommunication department. Khalilur Rahman, the special guests in the funeral were, Brahmanbaria-5 Constituency Member of Parliament Ebadul Karim Bulbul, journalist Syeda Akhtar Yusuf Shanu, Global TV Editor in Chief Syed Ishtiaq Reza and PSC member Professor Dr. Delwar Hossain and others.
