Ehsan Rana, Faridpur: Press conference was held at Faridpur Press Club under the initiative of Bangladesh Diploma Engineering Students Teachers Professional Struggle Council. At 11:30 in the morning, General Secretary of Faridpur Press Club, Mahbubul Islam, read the keynote address. Member Secretary of Bangladesh Diploma Engineering Students-Teachers Professional Struggle Council, Sirajul Islam. Samsuddin Talukder, convenor of Bangladesh Diploma Engineering Student Teacher Professional Struggle Parishad gave the welcome speech. According to the instructions of the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the duration of the four-year diploma in engineering education course has been changed to three years. This press conference was held to protest the speech of Dipu Monir MP. The press conference said that the course has been running successfully for the past 22 years and Diploma Engineers are being recognized at home and abroad. At that time, the education minister is making such a statement to protect the interests of any group, which raises many questions. While in India and Pakistan the duration of this course is being increased to four years due to various considerations in the global job market, many countries of the world have this course duration of four years or more. In such a situation why the Minister of Education of Bangladesh has extended the duration of this course from four to three years with the lame argument of saving money for the parents is absurd and ridiculous. Coming out of such self-interested plot, according to the announcement of the Honorable Prime Minister, the Minister of Education is urged to implement the objectives of the National Education Policy 2010, including the expansion of technical education, the acute shortage of teachers in the polytechnic education system, the resolution of lab, workshop, classroom crisis. IDEB Central Committee Vice President Aminul Islam Mintu, Faridpur District Branch Councilor Azizul Islam Badal, General Secretary Shamsul Alam Moni, Councilor Mozammel Hossain Mridha, Library and Office Secretary Nurul Haque Molla and other leaders were present.
