Human chain and protest meeting held in Lalmonirhat to protest the torture of journalists

Mostafizur Rahman Mustafa, Lalmonirhat: Human chain and protest meeting was held in Lalmonirhat district during the performance of professional duties, demanding the arrest of the criminals including terrorist attack on five journalists, protest and withdrawal of false cases in the name of journalists. This human chain and protest meeting was held on Sunday (August 14) noon in front of Parishad Gate of Lalmonirhat Hatibandha Upazila on Lalmonirhat Burimari highway. Lalmonirhat Reporters Unity and Bangladesh Mofswal Journalists Society expressed solidarity in the rally organized by Hatibandha Reporters Club. Journalists working in Manabbandhan District, Upazila were present. Reporters Club General Secretary Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa, Joint Secretary Abdur Rahim, Organizing Secretary Asad Hossain Rifat, attended and spoke at the rally held under the chairmanship of Hatibandha Reporters Club President Altaf Hossain Sumon. Lalmonirhat Reporters Unity Advisor Milan Patwari, President Md Yunus Ali, Vice President Saiful Islam Sabuj, Rakibul Hasan Ripon, Joint General Secretary Kazi Asaduzzaman Khokon, Patgram journalists Abdul Mannan, AB Siddique, Hasmat Ullah of Kaliganj, Minhajul Haque Bappi and many others. The program to surround the office of the District Superintendent of Police was announced if the attackers of 5 journalists were arrested, the false case of Anu was withdrawn and the false case of BGB against 9 journalists of Patgram was not withdrawn within the next 20 days. If effective action is not taken after that program, various programs will be announced in front of Rangpur Divisional Police Commissioner's office on 25th August.
