3 killed in separate road accident in Pabna

Tofazzal Hossain Babu, Pabna: Three people were killed in separate road accidents in Pabna Sadar and Atgharia upazilas. Among them, two are businessmen and one is a teenager. The accident took place on Saturday (August 13) evening and midnight. The deceased are Iqbal Hossain Khan (55) son of Yakub Ali of Krishnapur Mohalla of Pabna Town Sadar, Majid Sheikh (50) son of Mohammad Sheikh of Natiabari village of Bara upazila and Hriday Hossain (17) son of Abdur Rashid of Paramohan village of Majhpara Union of Atgharia upazila. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pabna Sadar Police Station Aminul Islam said that two businessman friends Yakub and Majid came out of the city on a motorcycle around 12 o'clock on Saturday night. When they reached in front of Nazirpur School on Pabna-Pakshi road, a speeding truck from the opposite direction hit them, killing Iqbal on the spot. The doctor declared Majid Sheikh dead after taking him to the hospital. They were two friends who did business together and lived in Krishnapur Mohalla of the city. As there was no complaint of the family in this incident, the body was handed over to the relatives for burial, said the OC. Meanwhile, Hriday Hossain was killed in a collision between an autorickshaw and a motorcycle in front of Paramohan Government Primary School in Atgharia upazila. The accident happened around eight o'clock on Saturday night. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Atgharia Police Station Abdur Razzak said that during the incident, Hridiya was seriously injured when he collided with a battery-operated auto-rickshaw while carrying a motorcycle. He was rescued and died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. No one filed a complaint in this incident.
