40 crore tax collection online

News Desk: Citizen harassment has reduced a lot due to the convenience of paying land development tax online without going to the land office. As a result, the rate of paying regular land development tax among the citizens of the country has increased significantly. Payment of land development tax from the beginning of the financial year is a regulator of increasing citizen awareness. In continuation of this, land development tax (tax) of more than 40 crore rupees has been collected across the country in the first 40 days of the current financial year through the online system.

This information was informed in a press release of the Ministry of Lands on Saturday (August 13).

It is said that the land offices of Dhaka city have been declared cashless. All types of fees are charged electronically in these offices. The rate of land development tax payment online is highest in Dhaka than other districts of the country.

The notification also said that about 99 percent holding entries have been completed so far. So far more than four crore beneficiaries have registered to pay land development tax without any additional cost in digital land tax system. Information of three and a half crore lands has been converted into digital. More than 10,000 civil servants under the Ministry of Land have been trained in this regard. Immediate filing is available after payment of land development tax.

In the current financial year 2022-23, hundred percent of the land owners of the country including Dhaka will come under the online land development tax system. The Ministry of Lands has also expressed hope that all the land offices of the country will be cashless gradually.
