Sanju Roy, Bogra: Bogra District Commissioner Md. Ziaul Haque said that the present government has taken various initiatives to improve the quality of life of journalists. Not only that, the honorable Prime Minister himself has always devoted his life to the welfare of journalists. But some people working in the media across the country are active in spreading misinformation and confusion. A circle is always busy promoting that Bangladesh will become Sri Lanka which is not desirable at all. He said, if there is a negative or error in the activities of the government or various departments, it can be corrected if it is highlighted through negative news. But not only negative news, but also the positive development of the government should be shown to the public which will increase the speed of work. He said, a group that always takes advantage of the various opportunities of the government is again spreading various misinformation and confusion which is hindering the development progress of the country. He said the above while speaking as the chief guest at the check handing over ceremony of Journalist Welfare Trust organized by Bogra Journalist Union (BUJ) on Friday morning at Press Club Auditorium. In the speech of the chief guest, he also said that the current government thinks that the improvement of the quality of life of journalists is very important. For this reason, Kalyan Trust has been formed so that journalists can get help from here in any crisis. Bogra Journalist Union President Amjad Hossain Mintu presided over the event and BUJ General Secretary JM Rauf conducted the event. Special guests were Mahmudul Alam Nayan, Vice President of BFUJ-Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists and President of Bogra Press Club, and Pradip Bhattacharya Shankar, Executive Council member of BFUJ. Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Secretary) Gazi Muidur Rahman along with members of Bogra Journalist Union were present. After the discussion, 8 members of Bogra Journalist Union, namely veteran journalist Murshid Alam, contemporary Bogra Bureau Chief Aminur Rahman Mohan, Channel 24 Bogra Correspondent Farhaduzzaman Shahi, GTV Camera Person Raju Ahmed, Bidhan Chandra Singh, Daily Kartowa Staff Reporter Hafiza Beena, BUJ Bogura District Commissioner Ziaul Haque handed over a total of Tk 850,000 check of Journalist Welfare Trust allotted to the name of Bogra President Amjad Hossain Mintu, Shafiul Azam Kamal of Dainik Janakantha and journalist Kamruzzaman working in Shibganj upazila and Al Amin Mandal working in Gabtali. At this stage, taking into account the financial condition and importance of the needs of 8 people who received checks from the Journalist Welfare Trust in Bogra, each person received a maximum of 50 thousand to 1.5 lakh taka.
