Kurigram Correspondent: Miscreants have cut down hundreds of betel nut trees and various types of fruit and medicinal trees in Ulipur of Kurigram. In the meantime, five sons of the deceased Kachua Sheikh Abul Hossain (45), Sadek Ali (40), Babu Mia (50), Sekendar Ali (55) and Chamchul Haque (42) entered Mintu Mia's land with named and unknown 7-8 native weapons. By cutting betel nut saplings, mango saplings, kadam saplings of different species of fruits and medicinal plants. In addition, Abul Hossain Gongra destroyed the Aman paddy seedlings planted on the land and the vegetable garden of different varieties in the vegetable garden. At that time, when Mintu Mia, his wife and nephew Syed Ali obstructed their wrongdoing, they were injured in various parts of the body in the Elopathari fight. He further mentioned in the complaint that at one stage of the mayhem, when Mintu Mia fell on the ground, accused No. 1 Abul Hossain sat on her chest and grabbed her throat with the intention of killing her, and her breathing stopped and foam came out of her nose. On the other hand, he molested his wife by pulling her hair, her clothes, and took away the gold chain from her neck. At present they are under treatment at home and in critical condition. The victim, Mintu Mia, filed a written complaint at Ulipur police station seeking redressal. In this regard, Ulipur police station officer in-charge (OC) Imtiaz Kabir said, subject to investigation, necessary measures will be taken.
