News Desk: Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said that the train fare may be increased due to the increase in fuel prices. He said, “There is a huge gap between train and bus fares, which will create huge pressure on trains. So we may have to adjust the train fare. We have not taken any decision on this yet.” He said these things while talking to reporters at Railway Bhawan on Sunday (August 7). Bangladesh Railway is a state organization. Therefore, if you want to increase the train fare, you have to take the instructions of the Prime Minister, said the Railway Minister, "We have not taken any such decision yet. However, the train runs on diesel, the price of which has increased to a large extent now. As a result, the fueling cost of railway operations will increase. Again increasing the bus fare will put a lot of passenger pressure on the train. Train fares may increase to accommodate this.” Earlier, the government increased the price of diesel and kerosene by Tk 34 per liter at the consumer level on Friday (August 5) night. Octane price increased by Tk 46, Petrol price increased by Tk 44. That is, diesel and kerosene are being sold at Tk 114, Octane at Tk 135 and Petrol at Tk 130 per liter after 12 midnight.
