Sanju Roy, Bogra: Even though the transport leaders in Bogra did not call for any specific strike after the increase in fuel oil prices in the night, the operation of oil-powered buses on long-distance and internal routes in Bogra has been stopped since morning. The reason is that they are waiting for the instructions of the center regarding the increase in rent. Bogra Charmatha and Thanthania inter-district bus terminals were visited on Saturday morning, and no bus from Dhaka-Chittagong came to Bogra. Also, no bus from Bogra to Rangpur, Sirajganj, Dinajpur, Nagarbari and the capital Dhaka left Bogra. However, gas-powered buses are leaving Sirajganj and Mymensingh and internal routes of the district and some transports have already increased bus fares. However, the leaders of the transport owners of the district said that no local directives or strikes have been called for the bus movement. The bus has been stopped by the driver. And the common people have suffered greatly due to such decision of the drivers. In the morning, it was found out at the Charmatha bus terminal that most of the drivers have stopped the buses due to the sudden increase in the price of oil by the government. At the new price of oil, their expenses will be much higher than their income. Because of this, the drivers are not forced to leave the bus. In the morning Bogra and Sirajganj route chain master Minhajul Islam said that only 1 bus has left on his route since morning and that too is gas. No oil cars are plying. Same is the case with other routes. Again, after checking the Thanthania Inter-District Terminal, it was found that some bus transports have increased the fare, among which Hanif Transport is one of them. A ticket seller, who did not wish to be named, said that their owners have asked them to increase the bus fare. For this, they have increased the Dhaka route fare by 100 taka to 550 taka. Meanwhile, bus has confirmed the suspension of bus movement, General Secretary of Minibus Owners Association Aminul Islam said that most of the buses are not going out of Bogra. The Dhaka-Chittagong route bus has not arrived in Bogra since morning. They did not give any strike instructions. Again the drivers were not asked to drop the bus on the road. He said, on Friday, the official price of oil has been increased by about 30 rupees. Now around 1000 buses ply on eight inter-station and district routes in Bogra. It takes at least 30 liters of fuel to run a bus up and down on the Thana route alone. In other words, there is an additional cost of over a thousand rupees. But that amount of income is never possible. For this, the leader of the District Bus, Minibus Owners Association demanded to reduce the price of oil and adjust the fare. He said, they will not take any decision by themselves. They are waiting for the Centre's instructions. However, the price of oil was not right to be so high. He expressed the expectation that the government will reduce the price to some extent and coordinate with the rent. Meanwhile, many passengers have suffered due to reduced bus traffic on the road. Most of the passengers are in uncertainty. Many people are traveling with extra fare. Again on Friday night after the news of Jalani oil price increase spread around, an unusual crowd of motorcyclists was seen at various pumps in Bogra. But before 12 o'clock in the night, most of the oil pumps stopped giving oil to the pump in the hope of more profit, so that common people expressed their anger and frustration at various fueling stations.
