Condemnation of the former president of Faridpur Chamber of Commerce

Ehsan Rana, Faridpur: M Siddiqur Rahman, a prominent businessman of Faridpur and former president of Faridpur Chamber of Commerce expressed his regret and said that a newspaper published from Faridpur made a report with various criticisms about me. Which is very sad. I did not expect such false reports. I would like to inform you that in the wake of filing a complaint of corruption in my name in Faridpur, the Anti-Corruption Commission, Faridpur has asked me for an interview as it is necessary to hear and accept my statement for proper investigation of the complaint. In the published news, it is said that I have confessed to the complaint of extortion and tender betting to the intelligence wing of the police. The news is completely false and motivated why I was never detained for questioning by the intelligence wing of the police and was never interrogated. Regarding the statement under section 164, I am informing you that the said statement was taken from me under the threat of torture. Which I submitted in writing to the learned Court through the Jail authorities on last 29/01/2022 while in prison. It has been mentioned in the news that I had to donate to the party programs of Chhatra League, Jubo League, Swachhasevak League and Awami League and did contractor business for 10 to 13 percent commission but in real sense as a businessman I was involved in various political parties, organizations, religious (mosques, madrasas and temples) and social. I have donated to (school-college) organizations at various times. But it is not in any way related to business interests. The news also mentioned that on December 10, 2021, with the help of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, I was arrested in a raid at a rented house in Dhanmondi. My explanation in that case, in view of the writ petition dated 25/11/2021 of His Highness High Court, I was arrested on 10/12/2021 without any arrest warrant despite the prohibition of the court. The case in which I was arrested is No. GR- 1028/21, Date- 10/12/2021 12:30 PM Place Faridpur- And at the same time I was arrested from Dhaka on 10th December 2021 at 12:30 PM. It is said in the news that I was arrested with the help of Dhaka Metropolitan Police which is completely wrong and false. As per the rules, no GD entry was made and informed in Dhanmondi police station before my arrest. So far, 02 cases have been dismissed by the court. In some other cases, I was directly involved in the police report (charge sheet), but at that time, I was staying outside the country on business. I filed a GD Ent in Dhanmondi police station regarding the attempt to implicate my name in a murder case of 2016. It may be noted that till June 2020, I did not have any GD Anti in my name but after my arrest I have been given one false case after another. Incidentally, Daily Nagrik Barta's report dated 4th August 22nd is false and baseless, I strongly condemn it.
