Tangail bus robbery and rape mastermind arrested

Rashed Khan, Tangail: The district intelligence police have arrested Raja Mia, the main accused in the case of bus robbery and rape in Madhupur, Tangail. He was arrested in the early hours of Thursday (August 4) from the new bus stand area of ​​Tangail town. The robber Raja Mia's house is in Balla village of Kalihati upazila. His father's name is Haroon Or Rashid. He lived in a rented house in the new bus stand area of ​​Tangail city. Tangail Superintendent of Police Sarkar Mohammad Qaiser said through a press briefing that the bus of Eagle Paribahan, which fell under the hands of robbers, removed the driver of the bus and Raja occupied the driver's seat. Raja told us who was involved in the incident during the initial interrogation. He said that after the incident of bus robbery and rape in Madhupur, the police started operations in different areas. He was arrested in a raid at the bus stand area early in the morning. Efforts are on to arrest the rest. Note that on Tuesday night, a passenger bus of Eagle Transport left for Dhaka with 24/25 passengers from Kushtia. When it reached Sirajganj late at night, a group of robbers boarded the bus from there. After the bus crossed the Bangabandhu Bridge, the dacoits took control of the bus. Then all the passengers in the bus were beaten and robbed by hand, foot and blindfold. At that time, a female passenger inside the bus was raped by a group of robbers, the victim said, and at around 3:30 am on Wednesday morning, the bus overturned on a sand pile on the side of the road adjacent to the Raktipara Jame Masjid in Madhupur Upazila of Tangail and ran away.
