International Desk: This is the first case of death due to monkeypox virus in India. A 22-year-old man died in Thrissur, Kerala. According to Indian Express, the young man recently returned from the United Arab Emirates. He was admitted to the hospital on July 27 with fever and other symptoms. After he died on Saturday, samples were sent to the laboratory to confirm whether he died of monkeypox or not. Later his test report came positive. Kerala Health Minister Veena George said that the young man was infected with monkeypox while on a foreign trip. The health minister also said that there was no rash on the body of the affected youth. So the doctors did not understand whether he was suffering from monkeypox or not. The July 19 examination report was published only after the death. There are positive reports of monkeypox infection. Monkeypox virus has been detected in five people in India so far. All four of them are residents of Kerala. The fourth person is a resident of Delhi. However, he has no history of foreign travel. Apart from this, another person from Kerala who got India's first monkeypox has fully recovered, said Veena George.
