Rain has increased in three parts of the country, may continue for 3 days

News Desk: Rain has increased in three parts of the country. Heavy rains (more than 89 mm) are also occurring in some places in these divisions. Bangladesh Meteorological Department said that this trend of rain may continue for the next three days. At the same time, the agency has predicted that the day temperature may drop slightly.

From Sunday (July 31) 6 am to Monday (August 1) 6 am, the highest rainfall of 96 mm has occurred in Panchagarh's Tentulia in the last 24 hours. Besides, Rangpur has received 82 mm of rain. Mymensingh received 18 mm and Netrakona 69 mm of rain. According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, 46 millimeters of rain fell in Sylhet and 10 millimeters in Dhaka.

There was some rain in Dhaka division as well. Chittagong and Khulna divisions received slight rain. But Barisal was rainless.

Meteorologist Md. Bajlur Rashid said that from 9 am on Monday, in the next 24 hours in most places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions (76 to 100 percent areas), many places of Dhaka division (51 to 75 percent areas) and some places of Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions ( 26 to 50 percent area) Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds may occur temporarily. At the same time, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country.

He said that the day temperature may decrease slightly and the night temperature may remain almost unchanged across the country.

Meteorologist Bajlur Rashid also said that the trend of rainfall may continue for the next three days.

The highest temperature in the country was 36.2 degrees Celsius in Mongla on Sunday. The maximum temperature in Dhaka was 32.6 degrees Celsius.

The weather forecast for the country's inland river ports till 6 pm on Monday said over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Comilla, Noakhali, Chittagong and Sylhet regions. There may be rain or thundershower with gusty or gusty wind temporarily at 45 to 60 km per hour from south or south-west direction. The river ports in these areas have been asked to show the number one warning signal.

Mostafa Kamal Palash, a meteorology and climate researcher at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada, said weather forecast models indicated a strong possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall across the country until Tuesday. The districts of Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Dhaka division are most likely to experience thunder and rain in the next three days.

He said that weather forecast models indicate the possibility of heavy rains in West Bengal's Darjeeling, Siliguri, Jalpaiguri and Cooch Behar districts for the next three days, almost all of which will enter Bangladesh through the Teesta River. As a result, there is a strong possibility that Teesta river will flow over the boundary on Tuesday and Wednesday. Weather forecast models are predicting a decrease in rainfall after next Wednesday. There is no possibility of any large-scale flood in any part of the country in the next seven days.
