Absconding with a loan of one and a half million taka: Wazed of Bogra arrested from Dhaka

Sanju Roy, Bogra: Bogra Sadar police station arrested Wazed Hossain, a 50-year-old fugitive who was sentenced to 10 years from Dhaka. He was sent to jail by the court on Saturday afternoon. Earlier, the police arrested him from Rampura in Dhaka on Friday evening. Wazed is the son of Shahadat Hossain of Namuja Bhandari neighborhood of Sadar Upazila of Bogra. According to police sources of Sadar police station, the arrested Wazed is an accused who has been sentenced to 10 years in 8 cases. Wazed used to deal in fertilizers and pesticides in Namuja market. For this he took a loan of one and a half crore rupees from various banks and institutions. Later, Wazed embezzled the money and went into hiding. After that various banks and individuals filed 8 cases against him in court. In those cases, Wazed was sentenced to 10 years and the court ordered him to pay one and a half crore rupees. Bogra Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Zakir Al-Ahsan said that Wazed's location was identified with the help of information technology. After that he was arrested in a raid in Dhaka.
